Louise Doughty’s Apple Tree Yard - the story of Yvonne Carmichael who lives a conventional suburban life which is thrown into chaos by a passionate affair – is the subject of an upcoming BBC adaptation starring Emily Watson and Ben Chaplin. Made by Kudos, the producers of Broadchurch and Humans, Apple Tree Yard is a thriller that "puts women’s lives at the heart of a gripping, insightful story about the values we live by and the choices we make,” a BBC spokesperson said.

The first episode of the four-part adaptation will be broadcast on BBC One on Sunday 22nd January at 9pm. The book is on order and will be in our library shortly.
